How do I edit the Benefit Summary template for items such as copays and deductibles that can be found on the Plan setup when I go to the Communications tab?
Answer: From your broker login page go to the "Settings" tab. This is where the master copy of the Medical, Dental and Vision Plan Service Template is held.
Under Templates select the tab Benefits Summaries.
For each of the plan services, you can edit the Type (Network, Orthodontia, General, Rx); the Category; the Service title; the Mobile App tag (ex. Deductible, Dr. Co-pay, Rx co-pay); and specify whether the service is used in comparison tables and is active.
You may also choose to move the order that services appear by clicking on the up and down arrows and drag and dropping the plan services in your desired order.
You can also add a service by checking the Add a Service link located at the top of the page.
The edits that you make at the Agency Template level will be reflected in the plan services templates within the Benefits > Benefit Summary tabs on Medical, Dental, and Vision plans.
As of August 2014, creating plan service templates is no longer also configurable at the company level. This was causing confusion when an agency configured a plan service template under a company, and other templates were configured at the agency level. Now, it is best practice to configure all plan service templates at the agency level.
Why are the plan services under the compare / details link on plans in the ee enrollment flow duplicated / jumbled up?
- Specific service/benefit data has been entered for multiple plan service templates under the plan's Benefit Summary tab. While only one template is selected from the drop-down, the system is still pulling in those specific benefit pieces that were entered for another template. To fix, go into the plan's Benefit Summary tab and select the other available templates from the drop-down. Remove any services that were entered for any of those templates you're not using and save the page. Once you've cleared them out, re-select the plan service template you want to use and save.
- This may also happen if the company is offering multiple plans and different benefit summary templates are being used for each. In order for the comparison tool to work correctly, the same template must be selected for all plans.
