What is a Company Identifier?
The Company Identifier is a unique ID you create when adding a company to the system for the first time. It's unique across all companies in our platform (not just companies under your agency). It's used during the ee registration process as a way to tie the employee to the correct company. We suggest keeping the identifier simple and as close to the company's name as possible in order to make it easier for ees to remember.
When ees register for the first time, they will need to enter the following data: Last name, First name, Last four digits of SSN, the Company ID and their DOB.
Is the company ID case sensitive?
No, company IDs aren't case sensitive.
Where can I find the company ID?
The company ID is located under the company's Settings tab > Profile > Company Identifier.
Can I change the company ID?
As of March 26, 2017, Broker users and HR users with 'Manage other HR users' permission are able to edit the Company Identifier (Company home page > Settings > Company Identifier). NOTE: If the company ID is used by any other company in Employee Navigator (across all agencies, not just your agency), you will be notified that the ID has been Taken and will be required to select a new one.
