On 04/20/2015, a notification was sent to all agencies hosting the Employee Navigator Login Widget on a site that is not secure. Details of the notification and the security requirements to utilize the login widget are included below:
In order to embed Employee Navigator’s login box into your web site correctly, the login form should be hosted on a secure (HTTPS) page. It is important that the login form be displayed on an encrypted page so that the user can be confident the password is encrypted at all times.
Deadline is May 1
Beginning May 1st, Employee Navigator will block all login requests that do not originate from a secure web site (HTTPS). Users will have to access Employee Navigator from our login page.
What should I do?
You should either forward this information to your company’s technical contact or contact the provider who is hosting your web site and ask that a SSL certificate be installed on your web server. This process can take from 2-5 business days so it is important these changes be initiated as soon as possible.
Is there a cost to install a SSL certificate?
Yes, companies like Go Daddy and Thawte have certificates that range in costs from $56-$150 a year.
